Plane Channel Simulation
-
- Channel flow configuration with streamwise and spanwise periodic boundaries
- Domain size: 8H × 3H × 2H where H is half channel height. Smallest wall-normal spacing is 2 × 10-3 H
- Grid size sufficient for a well resolved LES
- Energy needs to be injected into flow consistently to obtain sustained flow
- Rescaling, pressure difference (between inlet and outlet) or adding streamwise source term
- Finally, developed profile obtained by addition of appropriate source term
- Perturbations (synthetic turbulence) added to include resolved turbulence along with the modeled turbulence
- Then, run to let realistic physical turbulence to be obtained.
